答案
Should Euthanasia Be Legalized? Euthanasia has been a highly controversial issue at home and abroad. In some northern European countries it is legalized. Now it has become a hot topic again in our country because an incurable patient wanted the doctors to implement euthanasia on him but they had to refuse to do so since it was forbidden by law. Some people think that euthanasia should be legalized and put into practice. In so doing, it will benefit all people involved. First, it can lessen the pain of the dying patient who suffers terribly from the incurable disease. Second, it will also reduce the great financial pressure on the living because a great deal of money has to be spent in prolonging the life of the dying. On the other hand, others believe that euthanasia should not be legalized and performed. It is generally acknowledged that life is the most precious of all and should be put before everything else. Once a person is dead, he or she can never come back to life, and it is irreplaceable. What’s more, if euthanasia is legalized, it is possible for wicked people to take advantage of it to kill legitimately. In my opinion, euthanasia should be legally implemented but strict laws must be made and severe measures taken in case it is abused. And also, if the incurable patient wants to go on living in pain instead of having euthanasia, his or her choice must be respected.
