答案　　China has been a country known for its complicated social niceties since ancient times. Out of respect for other people, we’ve developed many social norms to adhere to. One example would be that in a conversation, we address the elderly or the superior with honorifics and us self-abasing terms. Another example is that according to our table manners, the oldest person should sit above the salt and only when he or she begins to eat can the rest start eating. As for meeting with someone we are not quite familiar with we formally shake hands to show politeness rather than cheek kissing manner as in some western countries. For different relationships with different people, the ways to show politeness are different.
