The National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention studied the number of cancer survivors. A cancer survivor is defined【C4】________ anyone who has been found to have cancer. This would include current patients.

The risk of cancer increases with age. The report says the majority of survivors are 65 years and older.

About 75% will survive at【C9】________ ten years. In the 1970s, the five-year survival rate for children was about 50%. In the 1960s, most children did not survive cancer.
