Apples have been as not only a delicious fruit, but also as an effective way to improve your health. Research suggests that eating apples can【C1】______your heart, your teeth, and your energy level. Eating a higher amount of fruits and vegetables in general has also been【C2】______with a lower risk for【C3】______diseases including coronary heart disease(冠心病), asthma(哮喘), diabetes, cancer and perhaps even Alzheimer’s disease(阿尔茨海默症).

However, after apple juice was added to their drinking water for a month, their memory was restored and they were able to efficiently navigate the maze again.

The mice’s brains were examined and found to contain a(n) 【C7】______level of beta amyloid proteinic(β淀粉状蛋白), as【C8】______to the brains of mice whose drinking water had not contained apple juice. The【C9】______and excess of this protein in the brain is one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease.

选项
答案
B
解析
空格所在部分为and连接的并列成分,空格前为the,后为名词excess,所以该空格应填入名词,且与excess同义。accumulation符合题意,意为“集聚”。所以此空应填入B)accumulation。
