Student A Hey Gary, what’s up? You seem to be under the weather.
Student B That’s true.
Student A What’s wrong?
Student B It is all about the living expenses here. The tuition fees and living costs are really high for me, I think.
Student A Well, it hasn’t been a long period of time since you arrived here. You might’ve taken the point into consideration before you came, right?
Student B Exactly, but the estimation was not so large. It’s not what I originally thought.
Student A So far as I know, upon arrival, students should have funds in excess of the average to cover the cost of some items.
Student B Really? I haven’t talked about it with my advisor yet.
Student A You should. How’s your accommodation now?
Student B That’s what I’m worrying about. You know, having shared accommodation is not suitable. It is better for me to take advantage of a live-in situation with native-speakers who are easy to communicate with, and I am in need of practice, but it will cost more.
Student A How about taking part-time jobs?
Student B We are allowed to work up to 20 hours during the term, and full-time during vacation. But it may have an effect on my academic studies.
