Why did Central American children try to enter U. S. illegally?

A majority of Americans still support some forms of legalization for undocumented immigrants who are already in the country, but opposition to the loose control is growing, along with support for stronger border security, according to the latest public opinion polls.(30)In the last year, rumors of the loose control have prompted tens of thousands of Central American children to try to enter the U. S. illegally in an effort to escape poverty and gang violence at home.
    This surge of migrant minors has at times overwhelmed detention facilities and the judicial system that must review each case.
