答案 The pie chart shows the factors which influence citizens’ sense of security in public safety. As can be seen, 37.6% of the respondents think that traffic accidents have a negative impact on public safety. A further 25.6% think that public disorder makes them feel insecure, followed by criminal offences (24.8%) and fires (12.0%). The survey results reveal that traffic accidents are the worst disruption to public safety. To address this issue, the government could take two measures. First, the transportation committee could make driving license exams more stringent to make sure that those who pass the exams really have the skills stipulated. It is reported that many drivers are actually not properly trained or tested before they are allowed to drive a car on the road, which is dangerous and unacceptable. Second, as many traffic accidents are caused by drunk driving, drink-drivers shall be severely penalized or even criminally charged. Hopefully with the above measures, less traffic accidents would happen, thereby enhancing citizens’ sense of security in public safety.
