This picture reflects a social problem in China that parents desire to cultivate their children to be all-round new talents—it comes into an error. It is not rare to hear complaints from kids that their happiness is spoiled by over expectation and unrealistic competition of parents. Recently, the case about Tiger Mom’s tough parenting of worldwide fame is the real answer. Why do such events repeatedly occur and become increasingly intense? For one thing, many parents justify their training mode to children on the grounds that kids should keep striving when fighting for their admission tickets to the society. For another, parents’ own dreams which they bear also fuel their eagerness for children’s success. The rigorous overall cultivation for kids is a dangerous epidemic in the society which blinds parents to kids’ self-improvement. Although some experts and parents have realized the seriousness of this problem, it is hard to solve it only by individual struggles. Actually, among the global education fields, world-class results are achieved by means of the most relaxed educational pattern—as little measuring and testing as they can get away with—in Finland. Maybe this method can give us some introspection.
