答案 The Importance of Translators in World Literature No one could deny the vital role of translators in literature. The Nobel Prize winner Mo Yan once said: "Without the translator, world literature is but a hollow word. " The practices of many brilliant translators have already proved it. In my point of view, only with creative works of translators would world literature be more accepted. Literature is a mirror of culture, while translating reconstructs that culture. Readers could gain access to foreign cultures with aids of translators’ works. Owing to translators’ unique perspectives and creative reproductions , readers often find themselves deeply attracted by local customs, economic situations and life styles of exotic locations all over the world. Thereby, they broaden their horizon and take great pleasures in reading. Also, translators enrich our spiritual world by translating diverse works. For instance, though translation of Andersen’s Fairy tales, we are acquainted with the brave Little Mermaid, and the beautiful and kindhearted Snow White. The truth, the good and the beautiful of these vivid characters deeply impress us. And that, the pleasure and fun are permeated with the childhood, generation by generation. World classics like The Human Comedy and One Hundred Years of Solitude have gained in popularity worldwide thanks to works of translators. Translators serve readers with the feast of the ideas and wisdom by eradicating barriers of languages and nationalities. It is said that great writers such as Lu Xun and Guo Moruo admitted that some of their works are, to some extent, influenced by foreign literature. It is evident that translators are indispensable for flourishing world literature. Thus, translators act as a bridge for enlightening about world literature and promote our spiritual enjoyment. To sum up, it is no exaggeration to say that translators are massagers of the world literature. They are carriers of different cultures and lead readers to a brand new spiritual world with their knowledge, language and diligent work.
