They both have the same thought—"Just 0.5 point short of my goal". The intention of the picture is to tell us the importance of setting a reasonable goal. The boy is not ambitious compared with the girl, which makes them so different in what they have achieved. Prom my point of view, a reasonable goal—the goal you can attain if you try hard—has two main functions. Firstly, a reasonable goal is like a beacon, which gives you hope. The girl in the picture is a case in point. She might be a bit frustrated at the exam. Yet, her goal of getting a full mark will encourage her to keep on working hard. Secondly, a reasonable goal is like an engine that drives us forward. If we are all like the unambitious boy in the picture, we will end up living a mediocre life, sluggish and lazy. In conclusion, setting an ambitious but reasonable goal will give us hope and strength to live an extraordinary life.
