This is Morning News Magazine brought to you by the Voice of Washington, and I’ m Jack Stevens. In the headlines today: a fire at a downtown restaurant, a welcome end to the bus drivers’ strike, and a final score on the baseball championship.
    An early morning fire that started in the kitchen of the Seafood Restaurant, 1400 Market Street, caused serious damage to the restaurant and the nearby drug store. Fortunately, no one was injured or killed.
    The Mayor said that an agreement had been reached last night with the bus drivers, ending the strike which had stopped the city’ s public transport services since last Monday. All the bus drivers are expected to return back to their jobs this morning.
    In the last game of the city’ s baseball last night, the Tigers defeated the Lions eight to five in a play-off to determine the winner of the city championship.
