Because adverts are broadcast widely, the influence may be huge as well Some adverts are promoting an unhealthy lifestyle For example, tobacco adverts were popular in the past. They made people, especially teenagers think that smoking is cool and neglect the harm it would do to health. Nowadays, many tobacco adverts are banned during prime time on TV and tobacco companies are required to use large print on cigarettes to warn people about health hazards. I think this is a typical example of the negative impacts of advertising.
