The answer is RFID—radio freguency identification. RFID is in many ways a great idea. How does it work?Tiny computer chips ( or " tags " ) are【C2】________(attach) to objects, clothes or packaging. Delta Airlines uses it to track luggage and the US Department of Defense uses it to count its weapons and vehicles.

It knows which shampoo you buy, which bread you prefer. The scanner then uses this information to target you【C7】________special offers. Just a few years ago, this sounded like science fiction, but it’ s becoming more and more common.
So, what is the problem? The problem is that great technology is often used for less great【C8】pur________. RFID could easily be used to track people instead of products.
