答案 Bicycle Sharing Sharing bicycles is a new form of sharing economy, providing bicycles for sharing at campus, subway stations, bus stops, residential areas, commercial areas, public service areas, etc. Recent years, we have witnessed the dramatic rise of bicycle sharing industry. In large and medium-sized cities of China, the bicycles available for shared use increase exponentially, meanwhile in small cities the sharing economy also undergoes fast-growing. From my perspective, bicycle sharing is a positive development. First of all, bicycle sharing is environmentally friendly. Although it can’t be compared with cars in terms of speed and comfort, it is green and low-carbon, which is in line with China’s aim to build an energy-efficient and environment-friendly society. When we ride shared bikes instead of driving cars, we are making efforts to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and slow down the extreme climate change of the Earth. Secondly, bicycle sharing brings people great convenience. It helps to solve the last mile transportation problem. Unlike the traditional bike sharing method, dockless bikes in today’s system make it possible for users to simply pick up or park a bike on the street through GPS and smartphone. To unlock a bike, you just need to scan a QR code on the shared bike with a smartphone app. After you finish riding, you can park it at any available areas, lock it and pay for the ride using mobile payment services. With shared bikes, it is much easier for people to get from the subway station to the workplace or back home. Despite all the benefits outlined above, there are still a lot of challenges. Oversupply and high operating costs are the most two obvious. But more importantly, as an emerging industry, most companies’ deposits are not under regulation. The deposit could be used to buy new bikes, pay employees’ salary and even invest in other companies. Consumers are at the risk of losing their deposit. To solve these problems, we need the joint efforts of both the bike sharing companies and the government. Companies could utilize the big data to figure out how many bikes should be put on the streets. They could also consider creating an incentive system for customers to help identify problem bikes and streamline the bike maintenance process and give them rewards accordingly. Meanwhile, the government needs to enhance regulations on this market, such as issuing notices to limit the number of shared bikes and ordering bike sharing companies to put users’ deposits into a supervised bank account. By and large, bicycle sharing is a positive development which is not only environment-friendly but also provides people with great convenience. But to have a healthy and long-term development, companies need to optimize the use of resources and government should enhance regulations.
