答案
Choosing to Work in Big Cities I have long dreamt of living and working in the countryside or a small town, and I guess many other people would also like to enjoy the peaceful environment and beautiful scenery there. However, when I am now graduating, I find the dream rather unrealistic. I decide that working in big cities should be my only choice after graduation. First, big cities mean better job opportunities for us; they have jobs that we can hardly find in villages or small towns. What kind of jobs do we expect to find in villages? Maybe doing a small business or working in the fields. But there has already been excessive labor power in villages, and many young villagers have to go to big cities to find jobs. Furthermore, when it comes to doing small businesses or field work, we are no better trained than those without a college degree. On the contrary, in big cities there are always a variety of jobs available and the pay is higher. Even if we are in some uncommon majors, like French or Nuclear Science, we can still find a job that best suits us. Second, big cities offer better career development for us. Competition in big cities is fierce, so we have to better ourselves all the time. But if we choose to work in towns or villages, we will be living a slow-paced life and will not gain so much. In a few years, there will be a great difference between people working in big cities and those working in towns or villages. The skills we learn in big cities will be crucial for our future career development. Third, working in big cities gives us the chance to enjoy all the advantages that modern metropolises bring. Life in big cities is not always about pressure and competition. It can be good and fascinating. Big cities normally own the best public facilities and are usually the cultural centers. We can go to the theater, the museum, the sports center, or a concert hall. When a famous musician is to hold a concert, big cities are usually the first choice. The excitement and colorfulness of city life are unimaginable for one who just lives in the countryside. Maybe with the development of science and technology, one day we can work in villages and still enjoy all the wonderful things of living in cities. But at present, I will choose to live and work in big cities.
