Where does the speaker work?

Let me explain how our schedule works, because some hospitals are like us, but many are not. You get two days off per week. However, since you’re new, you’ll be on call for one of your days off. Your days off probably won’t be consecutive, but you can request it if it’s needed. Oh, but you’ll get one weekend off per month. Sometimes you’ll be on call for two days, in which case you’ll get to stay at home for those days, but you must keep your telephone with you at all times. Schedules are written monthly, so if you want to make a particular request, you should do it at least two months in advance if possible. If there’s an emergency or special situation, you can usually have the other nurses cover for you, but you have to get this approved beforehand by me.
