Below is a graph showing the distribution of car accidents in a city during 1997. Look at the graph and write an essay of about 120 words making reference to the following points:
1. the distribution of car accidents in different months and the general trend in 1997
2. the possible reasons for the distribution of car accidents in the city

答案
From the graph, we can see that there were two peaks of accidents in 1997. One was in March with the number of 35. The other was in August with the number of 42, which was the highest point of the distribution line. From August on, the number of car accidents had been decreasing till it reached the lowest point of the year in December. There were several possible reasons for the distribution of car accidents. First, weather might have played an important role. Two peaks occurred in spring and summer, the two seasons which had most of the year’s rain. Driving tends to be more dangerous in rainy days. Second, people might have been alerted by the high number of accidents in March and August, hence less and less accidents in later months.
