The UN diplomat in charge of overseeing arms inspection teams visiting Iraqi presidential sites says he’s confident of Iraqi cooperation. Sri Lanka’s Gian Dan Perla left Baghdad Saturday after four days of talks with Iraqi officials. He said authorities assure him they will fully implement the accord signed with the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan last month that opened Iraq’s eight presidential palaces to arms inspectors. Mr. Dan Perla is to form teams of diplomats to accompany arms inspectors visiting those sites.
