The above picture, through the metaphor, reflects that today’s college education in China fails in large part to provide university students with knowledge necessary and useful in the society. With few introduction courses about effective vocational skills to be taken, college students always find it hard to land appropriate jobs after graduation. Even those lucky job hunters can not quickly adjust themselves to their jobs. College students should be alert to the possible gap between what are being taught in universities and what will be needed in the society. They should not lock themselves in an ivory tower. Instead, they should seize every chance to get in touch with the society. For example, they can work in companies as interns on vacation.
