答案 This set of pictures show some vivid scenes of the primary school children’s life in China. As the author points out in the Chinese descriptions, some things in school life are excessive while others are insufficient. There are too much homework and too little sleeping time, too many make-up classes and too little after-class freedom, too many tests and too little time for entertainment, too much tuition and few rational fees. What does the author mean by drawing such pictures? In my opinion, he aims at criticizing some wrong practice in our primary education: the schools put too much stress on intellect that they overlook the health of the students. It is known to all that primary education plays a vital role in one’s life. What our country and the society need are all round developed students who can shoulder the task of socialist construction in the future. Therefore, instead of stressing book knowledge, due attention should be paid the children’s moral, intellectual and physical development. It’s high time to free the school children from their heavy burdens.
