To his astonishment, several new branches marked with "IPhO", "IChO" and the like, are popping up right from the stump. This picture vividly portrays the negative influence school-selecting system and exam-oriented education system have on students’ study. The picture indicates that bonus-point system for entrance exams has been adjusted, resulting in some preferential policies being abolished. However, so long as the school-selecting system and exam-oriented education system prevail, new policies would continue to emerge. As a result, students are heavily victimized, both physically and mentally, for they are forced to learn without considering their talents and interests. Authorities concerned are advised to make more efforts to eliminate the bad influence caused by the two systems, so as to free students from endlessly studying for the obscure but not necessary tests.
