答案 I’d like to talk about my favourite festival, Mid-Autumn Festival. It’s celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of Chinese lunar calendar, usually in late September or early October. Because Oct 1st is the National Day Holiday in China, sometimes these two holidays combine to form a long holiday of about a week. Normally, people would have a travel plan, going back to their hometown or going abroad after working hard for more than half a year. Traditionally, Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated for harvest season and family reunion. On this day, the moon is at her roundest, most beautiful time of the year. The whole family usually gathers together on their balcony to appreciate the moon, surrounded by all kinds of delicious moon cakes and fruits. Nowadays, supermarkets also join the celebration by piling up well-packaged moon cakes of assorted flavors in the shelves. But family remains the most important theme of this festival. People not only celebrate the festival in their hometown. Travelling at home or abroad in this season of golden leaves and crystal blue sky is also popular among some well-off families. Where there is a family, there is a home. As the second most significant traditional festival in China, Mid-Autumn Festival does more than just provide businesses with opportunities for moon-themed, commercial sale, it also satisfies our romantic fantasy about the moon and the legends related to it. I love this festival because I like reading the poems and folk tales written about it. They express the romantic imagination and wishes that ancient Chinese had. Mid-Autumn Festival offers us a chance to understand our ancestors through those poems and tales. I think this is what’s so precious about this festival.
