F: Good morning. I’m Mary Keller from Preston Training Center. I am ringing to get some information about conference facilities. We are going to hold a conference in a couple of weeks. It’s an international conference and there will be 300 people involved. What we need now is one large conference room which can hold about 400 people and four small ones for group discussion. We would also like to have accommodation provided.
M: Yes, I see. Apart from size, what else are you looking for?
F: Well, the hotel must be close to the city, because some participants may want to tour around the town in the evening.
M: Then I think Crystal Hotel is a better choice. It has a very big conference room and is close to the city. Actually, it provides access by road.
F: It sounds pretty good. How much is the cost?
M: It’s $250 for a large conference room and $100 for a small one. Of course, it is calculated by day.
F: Well, it’s too expensive for us. You know, the conference will last for 4 days. That will cost too much. Can you provide some cheaper hotels?
M: Yes, how about Capitol Square Hotel and Hotel International? Both of them have large conference rooms but Hotel International is a bit fax from the city.
F: What’s the price for Capitol Square then?
M: The hotel has a 40% discount. So it’s about $150 for a large room.
F: OK, I think this is a better choice. Do I have to pay a deposit?
M: yes, $100 for that. Can I have your name, please?
