Who is Mr. Hamlin?

Good evening, everyone. I’m Joe Hamlin, the director of the Bayview Fine Arts Council. On behalf of our mayor, I would like to welcome you to the Bayview Film Festival. Tonight’s feature is Judy Johnson’s Making Kites Fly, this year’s winner of the Best Documentary Award at the Aspen Film Festival. Filmed in several languages but fully subtitled in English, this wonderful film tells the story of Damian Lamont, a champion kite flyer who enters competitions around the world. In a moment, Ms. Johnson herself will speak briefly about the film. Then, after the screening, she will lead a question-and-answer session. Snacks will be served as well. Now, let’s give Ms. Johnson a hand as she comes to the stage.
