Sections of the Trans-Canada Highway have already been closed, with crews attempting to clear away the snow. Snow continues to accumulate on Highway 12 in eastern Alberta, creating hazardous road conditions. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution while driving, and recommended to drive under the speed limit. The Ministry of Transportation is also asking drivers to check tires to make sure they are in optimal condition, and to use tire chains to provide additional safety.
