As can be seen, 42.4% of them think that government supervision should be strengthened, and a further 40.7% think that the corporate social responsibility should be enhanced. The survey results spell out the crucial roles played by both the government and enterprises. First, government agencies must give due attention and discretion to food safety issues. They must carry out regular tests on food samples to check and monitor food quality. Second, food enterprises must be aware of their ultimate responsibilities to provide safe food to consumers. If they fail to do so, they will face criminal charges. Therefore, enterprises are advised to commission third-party safety audit or at least do internal safety audit to avoid any possible food safety accident.
