Only boys could became students in some university (大学) in old times in the U.S. Then the University of Ruritania decided to let girls in. At first, some of the teachers were not at all pleased. One of them was Dr. Goller.
Dr. Goller used to begin his class with the word "Gentlemen". What could he do now? He did not want to say "Ladies and Gentlemen". When girl students came to his class for the first time, he still began with the word "Gentlemen". For him, the gifts were just not them.
Fewer and fewer boys came to his class because, unlike the girls, they were less interested in his class. The one day, there was only one boy in his class among a lot of girls. For a moment, Dr. GoUer didn’t know what to do. Then he began, "sir".
A terrible (可怕的) thing happened on a day when there was no boy in his class. He walked into the classroom and looked at the sea of girls. He did not know how to begin his class. At last, he said," Nobody is here today. "Then he mined and went out of the classroom.
