答案 We can see in the graph interesting contrast between males and females in regard to their diploma holding. For undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree, males are outnumbered by females. Strangely enough, for postgraduate diploma and master’s degree, the situation is just reversed. The graph indicates that females take up higher proportion of students that enter university and get an undergraduate diploma or a bachelor’s degree. It’s probably because in high school girls are usually more diligent and focus more on study, while boys are sometimes lazy and often distracted by some other things. However, when it comes to advanced degrees, the graph shows a dramatic decrease in the percentage of female students. The major reason may be that master’s degree programs take a significant amount of time, hard work and money, and may not conform to the needs of some women because some of the females think they will grow too old for marriage after getting a postgraduate diploma or a master’s degree. Personally, I think females should further their studies if they have the chance. Master’s degrees allow women to gain specialized knowledge, increase their job flexibility and their pay. They should not be easily content but pursue an advanced degree.
