W: I’m ready now. I’d like the roast chicken and a side order of corn.
M: And would you like an appetizer before your meal? The soup of the day is our delicious tomato soup.
W: I’ll pass on the soup, but I’d like a garden salad.
M: Can I get you anything to drink?
W: Yes, I’d like a glass of iced tea.

W: Don’t you like this rug?
M: Yes, it’s very nice, but I don’t think we can afford it.
W: No?
M: No, I don’t think so. Remember... our bank account is pretty low right now, and we still haven’t paid last month’s telephone bill.
