In addition, due to the limitation of the electronic screen, users have to press "page down" many times to browse all the explanations and examples of the word, which cause great inconvenience for users. Comparatively speaking, printed dictionary is more legible and straightforward. Secondly, electronic dictionary will cause heavy pollution to the environment in the manufacturing process. What’s more, if disposed improperly at the end of its life, electronic dictionary may affect human and environmental health because many of these products contain toxic substances such as lead, mercury and cadmium. Instead, printed dictionary made of paper can be recycled easily and thus it’s more environmental friendly. Considering the legibility and less pollution of the printed dictionary, we can safely arrive at the conclusion that printed dictionary is still needed and will not be replaced by electronic dictionary.
