And immediately the old man beside the seat just stands up and says "please have a seat here" , which forms a distinct comparison between the old man and the people around him. It’s not difficult for us to find that all of the others around him are young and healthy but show no intention of offering their seats to the old and infirm man. The cartoon depicts the phenomenon of the gradual loss of social morality. For one thing, there’s quite a few people are becoming selfish and egocentric who put self-interest in the first place and tend to overlook others’ benefit or feelings. That being said, they won’t do good for anyone unless they could get something out of it. Moreover, this phenomenon can also be attributed to people’s concern that their social morality will sometimes result in unnecessary trouble. At last, the whole society lacks a social climate to do good. However, no one can deny the importance of social morality. People equipped with the awareness of social morality are more likely to give others a hand, which is conducive to the harmony of society. Therefore, it’s high time for us to adopt some measures to reverse the current situation.
