答案 The importance of college education has burgeoned in an economy which has become more and more dependent on information. Then why do most people attend college or university? Some attend college for greater knowledge. A college education will increase one’s ability to understand developments in science and in society, to think abstractly and critically, and to make wise decisions. Some choose to attend college for more job opportunities and greater earning potential. The world is changing rapidly. Many jobs rely on new technology and a bachelor’s degree is a minimum credential for teachers, engineers, and many salaried jobs in large corporations. Some others go to college because they are interested in certain aspects of leaning and they want to further their study at college. In conclusion, people choose to attend college because a college education can provide them with more opportunities in life.
