People’s average earnings are in proportion to their educational attainment. This means that, the higher your degree is, the higher income you are likely to get. There are mainly two reasons that can he identified to account for this phenomenon. First of all, higher degree usually stands for better education and stronger ability. Therefore, people with higher degree tend to be given higher positions, and be paid higher salaries. Furthermore, people with educational background above bachelor’s degree are impossible to be replaced by ordinary laborers. It implies that to keep these talents, the company needs to invest more on them. To sum up, because of the potential advantages that people with a higher degree have, they tend to get more rewards than those with a lower degree. Only by pursuing a higher educational attainment, can people truly get a long-term income reward.
