I have known Wang Gang all his life, his parents having moved next door to me be- fore he was born. He is a very studious and sincere young man, mature, diligent, and as keen as mustard to get into publishing. I was telling him about the special trainee scheme your company has and he got extremely interested. I am quite convinced that my young friend would make an excellent publishing house trainee and you would have to cause to regret taking him on. He has shown a marked interest in literature since childhood, and is now well-versed in both Chinese and English. He is intelligent, industrious, and meticulous, all virtues which I know you would appreciate.
