The ability to change with the time is the key to being successful in the fast paced world of the 21st century. Life, after all, is about change. But why, for so many of us, is change so difficult to deal with?
Many years ago, Dr. Johnson faced a major change in his life. He at first responded to it by becoming angry and confused. But finally he realized that, instead of having to deal with the change, he himself had to change. Johnson made up the story of "Who Moved My Cheese?" to get himself to laugh at his foolish mistakes and fears.
"Who Moved My Cheese?" deals with four laboratory mice who live in a maze (迷 宫). They look for the thing that makes them happy -- cheese. In the book, cheese is a metaphor for the things we want in life; the maze is where we look for those things. When the cheese is moved, each mouse is forced to deal with the change. Eventually, all four of them realize that they can triumph in changing times.
The book was first published in 1998. Since then, many people have said it has helped them deal with change and make improvements in their lives. Mthough the book only takes about an hour to read, the lessons drawn from it can last a lifetime.
How did Dr. Johnson feel about his major change in life many years ago?
选项
A、He felt like changing too.
B、He felt sad and at a loss.
C、He felt lonely.
D、He felt like laughing.
答案
B
解析
本题为词汇题。问题针对几年前约翰逊博士面临生活中的巨大变革 的内心感受,本题涉及第二段第一和第二句话。 “Many years ago, Dr.Tohnson faced a major change in his life.He at first responded to it by becoming angry and confused”可以看出,约翰逊博士当时感到 “angry”和“confused”,与[B]选项中的sad和at a loss意思相同,因此[B]为正确选项。
