答案 In my opinion, that people are never satisfied with what they have and always strive for something new and different seems to be an inherent feature of human nature. I agree with this philosophy of life. To begin with, the spirit of dissatisfaction constitutes the very force that has driven human civilization forward in the course of human history. Without the thirst for more knowledge and ability, man would remain to be the primitive creature dwelling in caves, lurking in unfriendly wilderness, and eating uncooked food. It may be men’s inquiring nature that distinguishes them from other animals. Secondly, it is the insatiable desire of human being that has given rise to the spectacular development of science and technology in the modern world. For example, in order to travel faster, people work hard to invent bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, planes, and rockets. In order to communicate better, people use their wisdom and intelligence to produce telephones, cell phones, the internet, and even video phones. If we were contented with everything we have, the popular computer would remain a gigantic machine operating at a low speed rather than the portable multi- functional device running at an amazing speed. Thirdly, we are eager to make our life easier, more comfortable and more convenient. This is why we tend to replace what we have with something that can better satisfy our needs. It should be noted, however, that discontent with what one has owned does not mean that we should cry for the moon. Rather, we should aim to achieve those we are able to obtain within our capability.
