答案 Certificate Craze University students are busy preparing for examinations to get all kinds of certificates of English proficiency, computer skills, accounting, etc. There are various reason for the certificate craze. In the first place, faced with the shrinking job market, some students hold that versatility can expand their job options. In the second place, certificates seem to be conclusive proof of students’ abilities as well as an important criterion for judging a job-seeker. For instance, the only way an English major can convince the employer of an IT corporation is to have relevant certificates of computer skills. Therefore, they try hard to prepare for certificates of all sorts. Last but not least, many students just follow the trend blindly for lack of proper career planning. As a university student, I also run from one exam to another to get certificates. But I only prepare for general certificates relevant to my major. I firmly believe that a master in a certain line of work has better chances to survive and excel compared with a jack-of-all-trades.
