答案 As is shown in the picture, on a cold snowy day, a donation box from a charity is beginning to thaw the snow and ice around it. It is not difficult to find the symbolic meaning of the picture: nowadays donation can play an important role in disaster relief and in helping the poor and the disabled. The picture reminds us of the fact that in the recent earthquake in Sichuan, China, people at home and abroad donated a large sum of money to the quake victims. As we know, the strong quake flattened tens of thousands of houses and other buildings. It is reported that a sizable majority of people in the devastated zones lost their homes and property. Many people were buried in the rubbles and lost their lives. However, the donations help them pick up the pieces, and give them composure, confidence and courage to live on. The value of life lies not only in devotion but also in donation. So what counts most in life is what we do for others. Contributing money and other necessities to people who are in great need reflects individuals’ sense of social responsibility. It also generates a feeling that is beyond words and is difficult to obtain no matter how rich one is. Therefore, I strongly advocate that everybody offers a hand to others. Only with our love and contribution, I am sure, would our society become more beautiful and more harmonious.
