For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Punctuality. You should write at least 120 words following the outline given below.
1.守时是个好习惯
2.不守时会带来很多麻烦
3.要养成守时的习惯
选项
答案
Punctuality Punctuality means observing regular or appointed time. It is a necessary habit in all public affairs of civilized society. Without it nothing could ever be brought to a conclusion; everything would be in a state of chaos. But some people are often blamed for unpunctuality when their only fault is cutting things fine. A few minutes’ delay may not be a serious matter, but it may have bad results. Getting up five minutes later than usual may upset a day’s plan. Calling on a friend five minutes later than the appointed time may cause him some unexpected trouble. If people are not punctual, they may be regarded as impolite or not fully responsible. When equals meet, a person who is five minutes late is expected to make a short apology. If he is less than five minutes late, he will say a few words of explanation. It is hard for energetic, quick-minded people to waste time, so they are often tempted to finish a job before setting out to keep an appointment. Those who are unpunctual should try their best to get rid of their bad habit. Like all other good habits, punctuality becomes second nature with those who have duly cultivated it.
