答案 According to the chart above, the rate of population aging of China has been increasing. In detail, the elders will run from 97.19 million in 1990 up to 410 million by the year 2050. During the same period, the elders accounting for the proportion of total population will be from 8.8% to 27.4%. Obviously, this chart has forcefully proved that the situation of population aging has become increasingly severe and its problems have come to the fore. Many problems relating to population aging emerge. Firstly, population aging may cause a decline in work force. That will consequently affect the productivity of the whole society. Secondly, with small families and escalating pace of life, it is even graver for families to care for aged members adequately. Thirdly, the aging of population in China has to some extent led to the change of the family planning policy. As far as I am concerned, aging is an inevitable tendency and it’ s high time for countries to prepare for responding to the aging crisis. For one thing, governments should improve the country’s pension insurance system. For another, family care and community services shall also be encouraged. In brief, we should develop old-age programs and actively address the issue of the aging of the population.
