The bar chart shows the extent to which respondents are satisfied with their income. As can be seen, 71.9% of them think their income is mediocre. A further 8.7% are not pleased with it. Opposite to this, 18.4% of the respondents say they are content with their income and 1% very content. The survey results inform us that quite many people are rather dissatisfied with their income. Two reasons may account for this. To begin with, people’s income is not correspondingly adjusted to the soaring commodity price, which means that they are actually earning less. Besides, salary disparity between the rich and the poor is quite apparent in China. Many people will be unhappy in that their salaries pale in comparison to those earned by the rich. To solve this issue, it’s advisable for employers to increase the income of their employees according to the inflation rate. At the same time, to bridge the salary gap between the rich and the poor becomes an inevitable task for the government.
