答案 American famous socialist David Bly said "Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted." It is true that hard work is key to success. Without intense practice, athletes would not have the chance to win the medals in sports competitions and enjoy the happiness of success; without hard work, scientists would not be able to have new inventions or disclose the nature of this world. However, hard work alone does not necessarily lead to success. The judgment of a good time and a right place, often referred to as “luck”, sometimes is catalytic or even decisive to success. A well-known example is the story of Chen Tianqiao, the CEO of Shengda Networking Development. When he invested all his 300000 dollars in the computer game Legend, all his friends thought he was insane. However, this project not only rewarded him with 1.9 billion dollars but also promoted a small would-be bankrupt firm to one of the biggest online game companies in China. Besides hard work, Chen’s success is attributed to his intelligent sensitivity that it is time to meet the huge demand for the online games in China in the internet age. The very time and place, which is his luck, is the premise of Chen’s success. Therefore, success depends on two factors, hard work and good luck. Hard work is a necessary condition for success, whereas, without luck, without a deliberate choice of the time and place, success is not guaranteed.
