答案 The Change of the Number of People Registering for State Civil Service Exam From the chart, we can find that the number of people registering for state civil service exam increased sharply in recent years. In 2008, there were about 800 000 people taking part in the exam. Then the figure went up. In 2014, it soared to 1 520 000, which means the number of people registering for the exam jumped approximately two times in 6 years. There are two main reasons for this phenomenon. For one thing, compared with other jobs, the position as a civil servant means a "golden bowl" characterized by stability, well-paid salary and sound welfare. For another, with the increased enrollment of high education since 1999 in China, along with the recent financial crisis around the world, it is more and more difficult for college graduates to find a good job upon graduation. There is no doubt that a lot of students want to have a bet on their luck. In my opinion, whether taking part in the civil service exam depends on one’s own specific situation.
