How long has the Jackson Five existed?

Michael Jackson’s life was described as one of excess and loneliness. Born in Gary, Indiana, Michael Jackson was the 7th of nine children. At age five, Michael made his professional debut as lead singer with his brothers known as The Jackson Five. In their years together from 1964 to 1981, they sold more than 100 million records. It seemed only natural that Michael Jackson would pursue a solo career. His debut solo album of 1972 "Got To Be There" started a string of hits and he eventually parted company with his brothers in 1981. Michael’s reputation grew as a song writer, dancer, choreographer and producer. His landmark 1982 album "Thriller" is still among the biggest selling albums in history with sales of more than 45 million worldwide. Michael Jackson, one of the most popular and successful entertainers of the 20th century, died at 50.
