答案　　I love food, so it’s hard to think of just one favourite sort. However, if I had to choose, I think that would be houmous. I’ve always thought of it as a Greek speciality, although I’ve heard that it actually comes from Egypt. 　　Basically, it’s made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. It’s popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa. I’m also fond of it, although I’m very particular about my food. I live near a wonderful delicatessen run by a friendly couple. He is an Italian and she is an Egyptian. They make houmous with the best virgin olive oil and a huge quantity of fresh garlic. So their houmous is comparatively more expensive. I like it very much and I have it almost 3 times a week. 　　As for the reasons why it’s my favourite food, I think it’s partly because of its taste. I love garlic. Also, since houmous is full of protein and quality fat, it’s kind of very healthy. And finally, besides the fact that it’s absolutely delicious and good for health, I also like it as I can share it with other people. It’s best sitting together with your friends and enjoying the fresh houmous while sipping a glass of wine, laughing and talking about putting the world to rights. It’s a great way to enjoy fabulous food.
