He told me a few days ago that he found an amazing toy gun on a well-known online shopping website, namely, Taobao, and wanted to buy it. There is no doubt that online shopping has a lot of advantages and such a "hotness" gives us an impression that it would overtake the traditional way of consumption. Once a new industry springs up, the relative ones are bound to push forward. Online shopping is one part of electronic commerce, whose prosperity is beneficial to other industries among which logistics takes the lead. According to the express information statistics, the volume of business has soared since last September, with eighty percent coming from online shopping. China, following after the United States and Japan, becomes the third biggest express country in the world. The larger the volume of business become, the more working staff are needed. It means that more jobs can be offered, which is a piece of good news to the whole society. On this account, online shopping is making great contributions. Online shopping is very convenient. People don’t have to waste a lot of precious time on the way to stores and back home, nor do they need to walk from one shop to another to select what they like from a sea of goods. All they have to do is to sit in front of a computer, open the website of a commodity shop and click the mouse. Goods of different kinds lay before their eyes, in various shapes, sizes and colors. After ordering and purchasing, the commodity will be delivered to the buyer in a short span of time. Then the whole buying process is completed. Prices of commodities in the online shops are lower than those in the traditional shops. The traditional shops operate in the model of " manufacturer—distributor—consumer" and they act as distributors from whom people buy products with extra money. Most online shops, however, cut the second link, and it is themselves that function as the manufacturers, accompanied with the advantages of free duty and no rental, the price of commodities, thus, is much lower. No wonder so many people are wild about online shopping. Based on the above, we can safely draw the conclusion that online shopping emerges as the times requires and it benefits people a lot in their life. However, people should not blindly drift with the tide. They should be rational and make the best use of it.
