Should Primary Schools Offer a Foreign Language Course?
选项
答案
Should Primary Schools Offer a Foreign Language Course? It goes without saying that a foreign language plays an important role in communication in an open world, so much so that many primary schools or even kindergartens offer foreign language courses. They strongly hold the belief that "Well begun is half done." However, people’s ideas vary about this phenomenon. In the first place, some hold that learning a foreign language is a must in the future and children have to learn one sooner or later. They believe "the earlier the better" and their children should not fail at the starting line. In the second place, others believe "Haste makes waste." They argue that learning a foreign language does not necessarily make sense. And in no circumstances can a child master a foreign language without a solid foundation of his mother tongue. From my perspective, whether to learn a foreign language or not depends on the child’s interest. Only when his interest is stimulated can a child really like learning a foreign language.
