The accounting expert who was paid for by prosecutors told the jury that he examined Jackson’s financial statements from 1999 to 2003. John Duross O’Bryan said that Jackson owes more than 200 million dollars in loans, the loans were made against Jackson’s extensive music library holdings, including a catalogue of Beetle songs. Jackson’s lawyer estimated that the music catalogue was worth a billion dollars and could have easily been sold to liquidate the debt. The accountant expert disputed that claim. Prosecutors had said that Jackson’s dire financial trouble was the underlying reasons why he conspired to hold his accusers’ family captive. They alleged that Jackson was trying to get the family to rebut a damaging documentary about the entertainer’s relationship with boys. The prosecution is expected to rest their case on Wednesday.
