答案
Is It Necessary to Open Psychological Courses for College Students? In recent news coverage, we learnt that a 20-year-old college student jumped to his death because of a breakup and that a shy boy quit university because of his persecution mania. Under this context, I think it is very necessary to open psychological courses for college students. First of all, students would get some basic knowledge and coping tactics in psychological courses, which provide them with a measuring ruler, with which students can understand themselves better. For instance, if they learn about some early symptoms of a certain mental disorder, they can seek professional help when they need, before it is too late. Secondly, psychological courses could remove the stigma related to mental illness and help students form an appropriate attitude towards it. Usually, some students are isolated and looked down upon because they have some signs of psychological problems. Through psychological courses, students could learn that it is actually normal to suffer from mental problems and that there is nothing to worry about, if they are treated professionally. A balanced attitude developed from psychological courses is actually helpful to relieve the pressure of students with psychological problems. In conclusion, offering psychological courses in university is necessary and meaningful to help with students’ mental health.
