People who have Internet access at home are more likely to be in a
relationship, with the Web gaining in importance as a meeting place for
those seeking love, according to the latest research in the US.
" Since prior research on the social impacts of Internet use has been【S1】________
rather ambiguous about the social cost of time spending online, our【S2】________
research suggests that Internet access has an important role to play on【S3】________
helping Americans find mates," said Michael Rosenfeld, an associate professor of sociology.
The study, which presented at the annual meeting of the American【S4】________
Sociological Association in Atlanta on Monday, showed that 82 percent
of people in the study who had Internet access at home also had a spouse
or romantic partner, comparing to 62 percent for those who did not have【S5】________
Internet access.
Rosenfeld and Reuben Thomas, of the City University of New
York, found the Internet is the one social arena that is unambiguously
gaining importance as a place which couples meet.【S6】________
"It is possible that in the next several years the Internet could
eclipse friends as the most influential way which Americans meet their【S7】________
romantic partners, displacing friends out of the top position for the first
time since the early 1940s," Rosenfeld said in the statement. The【S8】________
researchers said they found that the Internet was specially important for【S9】________
finding potential partners in groups where the supply is small or difficult
to identify such as the gay, lesbian, and middle-aged heterosexual【S10】________
communities.

第二个the—a
解析
冠词误用。此处意为“罗森菲尔德在一项声明中说”。在这之前文中并未提到statement,并非特指,故将the改为a。
